Biography

Linde Hanna Rongen (she/her) is a freelance artist based in Reykjavík, Iceland. She graduated from the Fontys University of Fine and Performing Arts (2020) in the Netherlands and was an exchange student at the Iceland University of the Arts (2019) remaining in Iceland after she was an intern with the Iceland Dance Company (2020).

Linde is an interdisciplinary artist working and expressing herself through different art forms, ultimately letting this affect her practice of dance and choreography.

In 2020 she founded the collective Project HOFIE in which she frequently collaborates with Júlía Kolbrún Sigurðardóttir:  How can we make this circle straight? (2022) and How can we break this circle? (2023).
In 2021 she was an artist in residence at dansverkstæðið and developed the performance / exhibition HOFIE III: ORBIT, 2021 in close collaboration with Americ Duriez a Paris, based designer. As follow up on this work the album version of the original soundtrack was released under the name HOFIE III:ORBIT  in combination with a solo performance by Júlía Kolbrún Sigurðardóttir (IS) titled HOFIE IV (2022).
In 2023 the solo HOFIE III:ORBIT was developed into a group work with the dancers of FORWARD Youth Company titled HOFIE V, (2023) which has been performed in Borgarleikhúsið and the Reykjavík Art Museum (Meningarnótt 2023).
In 2023, Linde started the research of her solo  Bad Boogie Ballin´ (2023) performed during the DansDagar Festival, hosted by Dansverkstaedid and the Iceland Dance Company, as her first attempt to step away from the HOFIE series of works. Since 2024, during a residency at Leifshús Akureyri the work 'To be swallowed accidentally' has been initiated. A dance performance in which Linde as choreographer works with four professional dancers and a musician. The work was developed further during a summer residency at dansverkstæðið during the summer of 2024, which ended with a sharing of the work as a part of the residency and a guest performance as Rökkvan Festival in Gardabaer, Iceland.

Linde is a co-founder of the collective 'Improv for Dance Enthusiasts',  a community based project organising inclusive dance improvisation events. In collaboration with Gerðasafn museum the collective created the booklet How to be moved by art (2022). a handbook on how to reclaim the space of the museum through improvised movements and experiences. Recently, they have been working on the community project This is a good place (2023), funded by Reykjavíkurborg, after the collective went through an Erasmus+ opportunity to study with David Zambrano in a month intensive - Improvisation on Stage (2023). In the year 2024/2025 the collective worked on the community projects REFLECT and LEAF (Learning through ecological art forms) which have been performed at DansDagar Festival 2025 and in the City library in Reykjavík. Currently LEAF is being developed into a film that is planned to premiere in 2025/2026.

In august 2023 she won the Hackathon in Prague - RE-USE: The role of sustainability in sculpture and visual arts. As a result she worked with an international team of artists on the work ‘Hljódheimur Fossvogs’ in Kopavogur in collaboration with Gerðarsafn Museum, an interactive outside sculpture made of reusable materials.

Furthermore, she is actively establishing her own movement practice facilitating classes and workshops for professional dancers, which have been held at dansverkstæðið, Fontys University of Fine and Performing Arts, Iceland Dance Company, and the Iceland University of the Arts.
